Who we are?

We’ Ivanshikha Foundation, a rehabilitation and treatment centre for substance abusers and mental disorders. We are registered Non-Governmental Organization registered under Indian Society Act 1960. We have started our journey with our Co-founder and Secretary Mr. Biswajit Das in the year of 2017. We are working on various project like No-Bhookha, TeMP, Narcotic Anonymous Programme, 12/12 Programme, etc. Along with that we are working on various Social Activities periodically like, Blankets distribution, Feeding the poor child, Planting of Small Plants in our surrounding, etc. For more details, please refer to our about page.

What we do?

Substance consumption is one of the major issue in our society. The awareness of the presence of solutions to this problem in the form of rehabilitation centres are very poor. Going to alcohol de-addiction centres are still looked upon as a social stigma, but most times seeking professional help is extremely essential. Our organization helps to recover substance abused patients, psychological disordered patients and make them acceptable for the society again through the various healing programme, like 12/12, Narcotic Anonymous, Mental Rehabilitation programme.

Current Scenario of Substance Abuses in Kolkata

Kolkata is famous for its huge strength of literacy and intellectuality. Underlying all this is currently a chaotic world of alcohol and substance abuse. The awareness of the presence of solutions to this problem in the form of rehabilitation centres are very poor. Going to alcohol de-addiction centres are still looked upon as a social stigma, but most times seeking professional help is extremely essential. Not only substance abuse, the crimes associated with and for them have also increase in the region. Underage sexual offenses are on the rise risking the safety of women in Kolkata too. The government is taking strict actions against these crimes and abuses to control the situation. 49.6% of senior school students are brown-sugar users which is the highest number out of any region in India. 55.6% of male adolescents in Kolkata are cannabis users. Substance abuse in the generation below the legal age in Kolkata is the highest in the country.
